Getting the most from your OPUS® Cart

Practical guidance to help you get the best clinical outcomes from day one.

Let QuickSense handle mode selection. OPUS® automatically detects the connected handpiece and selects the appropriate mode and power setting. Confirm the ColourDrive indicator before starting — this removes setup errors and keeps appointments on schedule.

Match the SILKY® nozzle to the pocket depth and indication. Supra nozzle (120° spray) for fast supragingival prophylaxis; Perio Easy for initial subgingival access in moderate pockets; Perio nozzle for deep-pocket decontamination (auto pressure reduction to <1 bar); Perio Maintenance for gentle long-term recall. Correct nozzle selection directly impacts efficacy and patient comfort.

Use the Grab & Go bottle system to maintain consistent irrigation. The Top-Aspiration vortex system draws powder from the top of the bottle — insert the bottle until it clicks and ensure pressurisation is triggered via the foot pedal before beginning air polishing. Do not tilt or invert the bottle during treatment.

Select SILKY® Perio powder for implant and subgingival cases. Glycinate-based, 25 µm grain size — safe for enamel, dentin, and cementum, and fully biocompatible. For routine supragingival cleaning and stain removal, SILKY® Supra Mint (NaHCO₃, 40 µm) delivers fast, effective results.

Use the ultrasonic Boost range (levels 16–20) only for heavy calculus removal. For periodontal and implant maintenance, stay within the Perio range (1–9) to preserve tissue integrity. Newtron® technology maintains constant vibration amplitude regardless of power level — do not increase power to compensate for tip wear; replace tips when efficiency drops.
