Peri-implantitis Surgical Therapy — Applied after flap elevation and granulation tissue removal to mechanically decontaminate the exposed implant surface prior to guided bone regeneration or resective surgery.
Implant Surface Biofilm Removal — Removes infected tissue and biofilm from the full circumference of exposed implant threads using rotating round bristles, covering areas that linear or angled brushes cannot reach uniformly.
Re-osseointegration Preparation — Surface cleansing with R-Brush preserves the rough implant surface architecture — a critical factor for new bone contact and re-osseointegration following decontamination.

Getting the most from R-Brush

Practical guidance for effective peri-implantitis surface decontamination.

Connect the cover cap to the fixture before applying the brush. The cover cap protects the internal implant connection from bristle contact during the decontamination procedure. Confirm the cover cap is fully seated and secure before engaging the R-Brush — loose seating risks displacing the cap into the surgical field or damaging the internal hex.

Select the brush diameter to match the implant platform. The Regular (Ø5.6) is appropriate for standard-diameter implants; the Wide (Ø6.6) for wide-platform fixtures. Correct diameter selection ensures the bristles engage the thread profile across the full circumference without excessive radial pressure on the surrounding bone wall.

Use vertical reciprocating motion with copious irrigation throughout. Apply the R-Brush along the exposed implant surface with a continuous vertical reciprocating stroke at 2,000–5,000 rpm. Maintain irrigation throughout — dry use generates heat at the implant surface and risks thermal damage to the remaining peri-implant bone.

Use R-Brush as part of a comprehensive decontamination protocol. Single patient use — do not resterilise or reuse. R-Brush is a single-use disposable device. Reuse risks cross-contamination and bristle fatigue, which reduces decontamination efficacy and may result in bristle separation in the surgical field. Discard after each patient.
