Torq Control®
Universal Torque Wrench

Torq Control® is the Anthogyr universal torque wrench ensuring precise tightening — crucial for implant success, regardless of connection type or access constraints. Designed for all prosthetic procedures, it offers optimal safety with automatic declutching when the selected torque is reached. A must-have, especially for full arch restorations.

Clinical Insight

What clinicians are saying

Real-world feedback from implantologists and prosthodontists using Torq Control® in their practices.

"The 100° micro-head is the feature that sold me — I work heavily in posterior sectors and visibility has always been a limiting factor with conventional wrenches. With Torq Control® I can confirm seating and complete tightening in a single, confident movement. The automatic declutching gives me certainty that I haven't over-torqued, which matters enormously in the abutment screw longevity conversation."

Posterior Access · Abutment Screw · Torque Accuracy

"For full arch cases, I'm torquing anywhere from four to six screws in a single appointment. Torq Control® makes that repeatable — same 130g instrument, same feel, same declutch every time. The dial is easy to read and adjust chairside, and the autoclavability means it goes straight from the cassette to the patient. It's an instrument I stopped thinking about, which is exactly what a good tool should be."

Highlights

Designed for precision, built for everyday use

Every detail of Torq Control® is engineered to deliver consistent, safe prosthetic tightening — with no compromises on access, control, or maintenance.

Torq Control 100-degree micro-head for posterior access

Access

100° micro-head for posterior access

The micro-head is angulated at 100° to maintain easy access and optimal visibility even in the most confined posterior sectors — without repositioning the patient or compromising the tightening angle.

Torq Control torque dial showing 7 settings from 10 to 35 N.cm

Precision

7 torque values, automatic declutching

Seven selectable torque settings from 10 to 35 N.cm cover the full range of implant prosthetic protocols. The wrench automatically declutches the moment the target torque is reached — preventing over-tightening with no reliance on operator feel.

Torq Control held in clinical use — manipulation fully outside the mouth

Comfort

130 g — manipulation fully outside the mouth

At only 130 g, Torq Control® allows complete freedom of movement. Torque is applied entirely outside the mouth with no lateral movement — maximising patient comfort and giving the operator full tactile control throughout the procedure.

Why Torq Control®

Performance, ergonomics, and reliability in one instrument

Three pillars that have made Torq Control® an icon of implant prosthetics since 1997.

High Performance

High precision torque tightening with automatic declutching at the selected value. Universal connection accepts all prosthetic mandrels across any implant system.

Ergonomics & Ease of Use

At just 130 g, the instrument offers maximum freedom of movement. The manual screw-in feel gives operators full tactile control, with all manipulation performed outside the mouth.

Reliability & Quality

One-piece design, autoclavable at 135°, and repairable. Made in the Mont-Blanc Valley, France, since 1997 — trusted by professionals for over 25 years.

Operating Tips

Getting the most from your Torq Control®

Practical guidance for accurate, consistent torque delivery in daily prosthetic use.

1
Set the torque value before connecting to the abutment screw. Rotate the dial at the base to the required torque setting before engaging the mandrel. Confirm the selected value against the implant manufacturer's abutment screw protocol — torque requirements vary by screw size, material, and connection type. Do not adjust the dial mid-tightening.
2
Let the automatic declutching do its job — do not force past the click. Torq Control® is designed to release the drive mechanism the moment the target torque is reached. Applying additional force after declutching will not increase the delivered torque — it bypasses the safety mechanism and risks screw deformation or overload on the implant-abutment interface.
3
Use the 100° head angle to your advantage in posterior sectors. Position the wrench so the body sits at the angulation that gives the clearest sightline to the screw head — the 100° offset is specifically designed to maintain drive axis alignment while keeping the handle outside the mouth. Avoid tilting the handle laterally to compensate for access; reposition the patient or retraction instead.
4
Sterilise after every use — the one-piece design makes this straightforward. Torq Control® is autoclavable at 135° and its one-piece construction means no disassembly is required. To maintain TGA compliance and measurement accuracy, annual calibration is highly recommended. Inspect the mechanism before each use; if the declutching feels inconsistent, contact X DENTAL immediately for official repair and technical support rather than continuing clinical use.
5
For full arch cases, confirm each screw individually before moving to the next. The declutch confirmation at each position is your audit trail that every screw has received the prescribed torque. In full arch restorations where multiple abutment screws are placed, work in a consistent sequence and record each position — particularly when a mixture of screw sizes or torque values are used across the arch.
⚠ Operating Notice: Torq Control® is intended for use by trained dental professionals in implant prosthetic procedures. Always verify the required torque value against the implant system manufacturer's instructions before use. Do not exceed the maximum torque setting. Follow AS/NZS sterilisation guidelines for autoclave protocols. Refer to the Instructions for Use for full operating, maintenance, and safety information.
